The Pre-School Montessori Program
The rapid recognition of the importance of early childhood education
all over the world indicates the strong concern for proper and
quality child development
from birth to age six, the formative period when the child's patterns of
learning and behavior are established.
The search for appropriate and effective approaches to early childhood
education has brought the Maria Montessori Method in the limelight.
This is due the fact
that the Montessori Method advocates basic principles proving in harmony
with the recent research findings in behavioral sciences.
Dr. Maria Montessori, after whom the method was named, drew her education
philosophy from her observations of childrens, which focus in the
innate potential of
the child to unfold at his/her own rate. She believed that freedom and respect
are essential ingredients for the unfolding and the full absorption of rich
environment made possible by the use of all the senses at the proper time.
